Dilly Giggles Organic Kids Lip Balms

October 23, 2010

I recently came across a little company called Dilly Giggles. When I say little, I mean no disrespect what so ever. Little companies are some of the best companies you will ever find. And plus, how great is the name Dilly Giggles? Adorable. Read on to find out more about this great company..

Dillygiggles began in 2007, when founder Amy Havens felt the need to create a safe alternative to the chemically-laden lip balms her daughter found so appealing. What started out as some fun-filled, mom & daughter experimenting in their own kitchen, turned into a unique and whimsical line of products for young girls that are simply down-to-earth.

I am one of those moms that shutters in disgust at the sight and sound of most kids chapsticks/lip balms. Bonnie Belle and anything dollar store related thats supposed to resemble candy car brands, are so utterly disgusting, I hate that they target kids with those toxic slews of “lip balms”.  These are nothing like that. You can breathe easy knowing that your kids will be safe using them.

These fantastic, non-toxic, 99% organic lip balms are made right here in the USA, Michigan to be exact. Since I am in Michigan too, I’m think thats pretty awesome.  It has a small list of good-for-you ingredients. Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Essential Oil(varies by indiviual product), Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract, Organic Calendula.

There are 4 flavors, each with cute names and adorable packaging. You can buy them in a 4 pack or seperate.

Magical Mint.

Cutest Mermaid on it. Very mild peppermint. My Oldest chose this. She likes that its not really tingly because some peppermint lip balms are tingly which she dislikes. She loves the mermaid on it. She named it but I can’t remember what she named it. But this lip balm, or as she says, this “mermaid”, is the best friend of Fairy Cherry, (see below)

Sassy Citrus.

Has a unicorn on it. My 3 year old chose this as the one she wanted to try. She really likes it. Its a very mellow blend of orange and lemon. She says its her “Orange Balm”.  She likes being able to be a big girl and do things she sees her sister do. She looks forward to getting her face wiped after meals and putting some on all by herself.

Fairy Cherry.

Ah, Fairy Cherry. Here’s whats funny about Fairy Cherry. My oldest chose this to go with the Magical Mint. She thought that Fairy Cherry needed a friend. She refers to Fairy Cherry as is. Its not a lip balm. She see’s as if it were a doll or something. When she got a cold recently, she refused to use it. She said she didn’t want to get Fairy Cherry sick. It was adorable. She said it smells like a cherry sucker, but she promised to not eat it.

ooh-la-la vanilla.

This smells yummy. My 2 year old chose this. He calls it “Cat”. He veers off onto his cheek when using it, but theres no need to fret. The ingredients are good-for-your skin ingredients, that a lot of balms for face and body have anyways. He’s so proud of him self being able to do something his sisters do. He also likes being able to put it on by himself. I feel good knowing its safe.

I love that when you purchase the 4 pack, the packaging has a spot on the back side that you can fill in for gift giving or stocking stuffers. How perfect!!! I can’t think of any girl from the ages of 2 on up, that wouldn’t like to get these. Christmas is coming soon, buy this for the little girl in your life, and feel good knowing its safe.

You can buy these online at Dilly Giggles.
