EcoTools Powder Brush

September 20, 2010

I love EcoTools. For several reasons actually. My main reason, is that they are super affordable. If some freak mishaps and one of the girls (aka my makeup brushes,… hey, don’t laugh) is no longer usable, I don’t freak out, because I know that it can be replaced with a high quality, professional, yet affordable brush. They are also great because you can have more of a brush, that you’d normally only have one of.

EcoTools not only makes great brushes but they are a great company. They are eco-friendly, which is a plus. They also have a new line of make-up cases that are made of hemp, that endorsed,…is that the correct word? They are designed my Alicia Silverstone. Who is by far one of the most eco-friendly celebs, and humans there is. I love her blog.  Back to the brush! This earth friendly brush shows respect for the earth from its cruelty free bristles to its bamboo handle.  This brush as well as the rest of their brushes are made with animal free taklon bristles. Made from soft and pliable synthetic hair. The metallic ferrule is made from recycled aluminum cans. Handles are made of bamboo. Bamboo is highly sustainable and has a low impact on the earth’s environment, it grows up to 4 feet a day.  Brushes are housed in reusable puches, and printed with plant-based ink. They utilize resources  that minimize the negative impact on the environment.Investing in brushes from EcoTools is a small, but smart way, to help do your part to make the world a greener place. They have joined forces with 1% for the Planet.  They are an alliance of businesses that are commited to using their resources to create a healthier planet. 1% of EcoTools annual are donated to the organization.

Ok, now that I’ve filled your head with all kinds of knowledge. Lets discuss performance. This is a great Powder Brush. I feel that no one can have to many powder brushes. A powder brush, gets tons of use. From blending, to bronzer, to brushing, it serves lots of uses.

I like that the bristles are soft. That is a huge deal breaker for me. Synthetic or Real, it must not have scratchy bristles. This has soft, airy, loose, but dense enough to collect just the right amount of powder, and distribute it onto your face evenly.

I recommend any of the EcoTools brushes. I’ve used quite a few before, and I think they are an essential in your beauty arsenal.

Along with being affordable, and eco-friendly, they are extremely easy to find. You can find them at Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kmart, Walmart, Ulta stores, or visit EcoTools for a store locator.
